Ukraine puts the number of children killed since the start of the war with Russia to 353

Ukrainian authorities on Saturday put the number of children killed since the beginning of the Russian invasion, unleashed on February 24 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, at 353, while stressing that more than 660 minors have been injured in the hostilities.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has said through a message on Telegram that it has been able to verify 353 children killed and 662 injured, while stressing that «these figures are not final, as work is ongoing in places of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories».

Thus, he pointed out that Donetsk oblast is the one with the highest number of victims, with 352 dead and wounded. Behind are Kharkov region with 192, Kiev region with 116, Chernobyl region with 68, Lugansk region with 61, Mikolayev region with 53, Kherson region with 52 and Zaporiyia region with 31.

Finally, he stressed that 2,138 educational institutions have suffered material damage as a result of the attacks by the Russian forces, of which a total of 221 have been «completely destroyed», while providing a web page and two telephone numbers to «give information on war crimes against children».
