Four people were shot dead in the northern Honduran city of San Pedro Sula during a shooting incident in the suburb of Chamelecón at around 6:00 p.m. local time, close to the local police headquarters.

For the moment, only two of the victims have been identified, a 30 year old shopkeeper and another man. Three of the bodies were found in the home of the first with obvious signs of violence.

The Honduran National Police has not made any statement about what happened for the moment, according to the local newspaper ‘La Prensa’.

In Honduras between 10 and 13 murders are registered daily, according to official sources quoted by the same newspaper, data that the authorities attribute to organized crime groups, drug trafficking and gangs.

This country has registered 39 multiple murders so far this year, that is, where more than three people have lost their lives, although there have been a total of 1,592 violent deaths since January, according to official figures.
