The Moldovan Foreign Ministry on Monday declared an employee of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau ‘persona non grata’ for violating the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
According to the diplomatic portfolio in a statement, this measure has been informed to the Russian ambassador in the country, Oleg Vasnetsov, in a meeting this Monday at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry authorities confirmed that the employee of the Russian Embassy will have to leave the country, while Vasnetsov was informed of Chisinau’s firm condemnation of the Russian attacks on neighboring Ukraine.
«The Foreign Ministry has reiterated that the missile attacks on the neighboring country continue to exacerbate security risks, and the citizens of our country are increasingly feeling the dire effects of the war,» said Chisinau.
Finally, the diplomatic portfolio remarked that Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure only endanger the energy security of the neighboring country, as well as that of Moldova itself.
