The Government of Japan has condemned North Korea’s launch of ten missiles into the Sea of Japan, calling the projectile fired by Pyongyang that landed near the South Korean coast «totally unacceptable».

Following North Korea’s launch of ten missiles into the Sea of Japan early Wednesday morning, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida warned that Pyongyang «has been launching missiles at an unprecedented rate,» referring to the nearly 40 missiles fired by the Asian country in a month. «It is totally unacceptable,» Kishida said.

In this regard, the Japanese Defense Ministry has announced that its government has lodged a protest with North Korea through its embassy in Beijing, according to the Japanese news agency Kyodo.

However, Japan’s Defense Minister, Yasukazu Hamada, has warned that two of the ballistic missiles launched by Pyongyang have fallen outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, without any damage to planes or ships.

«They flew about 150 and 200 kilometers at a maximum altitude of about 150 and 100 kilometers, respectively, and may have flown on irregular trajectories,» Hamada said.
