The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned late Thursday of the launching of four rockets from the Gaza Strip, although they clarified that one of them was intercepted and the other three fell short.
After 21:00 hours (local time), air warning sirens began to sound in the towns of Kissufim, Ein HaShlosha and Nirim, all located near the border with Gaza, according to the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.
According to the Israeli Armed Forces, the country’s air defense system, known as Iron Dome, has managed to intercept one of the projectiles allegedly launched from Palestinian territory.
The other three rockets, launched moments later, failed to set off the anti-aircraft alarms and it is estimated that they may have fallen short and ended up landing on Palestinian territory.
Health authorities in the country have reported that no injuries or deaths have been reported.
According to the above-mentioned media, these attacks were carried out hours after Farouk Salameh, identified as «commander» of the Palestinian Jihad group, was killed during an Israeli military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin.
