German logistics and parcel delivery company Deutsche Post DHL posted an attributable net profit of €1.228 billion in the third quarter of 2022, up 13 percent from the same period last year, the company said Tuesday in its income statement.

«The first three quarters of the year were the most successful in the company’s history. Operating profit remained above 2 billion in all three quarters. Even if overall growth is losing steam, we are well on track to achieve our best result ever with around 8.4 billion in operating profit,» stressed the company’s CEO, Frank Appel.

Sales rose by 20 percent to EUR 24.038 billion. By business segment, the Freight division grew by 38.8 percent, while the Express Services division posted sales of 7.036 billion euros, up 21.8 percent.

The supply chain business posted revenue of 4.16 billion, up 14.4 percent, while postal services in Germany posted revenue of 3.843 billion, unchanged compared with the third quarter of 2021. The e-commerce solutions business posted revenue of 1,456 million, up 8.3 percent.

Spending on materials was 13,889 million between July and September, up 29.9 percent, while personnel costs reached 6,472 million, up 10.5 percent.

For the first nine months of 2022 as a whole, Deutsche Post DHL’s attributable net profit was 4.04 billion euros, up 13.2 percent, while revenue rose 21 percent to 70.66 billion.
