Brazil’s president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, said Wednesday that he will begin to consider appointments to his Cabinet later this month, after returning from his trip to Egypt, where the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) is being held.
«When I return from Egypt, I will start thinking about the configuration of ministries,» the president-elect has told journalists in Brasilia. «Everything happens at the right time. There may even be surprises,» he has warned.
Lula, moreover, has expressed that he feels «worried» about the formation of the ministries. «I am more worried than you are, but I cannot tell you yet,» the president answered.
With these declarations, the leader of the Brazilian Workers’ Party (PT), also leader of the Workers’ Party (PT), attenuates the expectations of imminent announcements about the configuration of his Executive.
Lula will leave Brazil early next week, arriving in Egypt on Tuesday, and will return on the 18th, with a one-day visit to Portugal on the way back, according to Agencia Brasil.
