U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday pointed to indications that the missiles that hit Poland and claimed the lives of two people may have been launched from Ukraine, DPA news agency reported.

«There are indications that the rocket that hit a village in eastern Poland was an anti-aircraft missile from Ukraine,» the U.S. leader told his counterparts during an emergency meeting of G7 and NATO leaders.

Hours earlier, Biden said it was «unlikely» that the missiles that hit the Polish village of Przewodow had been fired from Russia because of their trajectory.

«There is preliminary information that disproves that. I don’t want to say that until we fully investigate. But it is unlikely, considering the trajectory, that it was fired from Russia. But we’ll see. We’ll see,» the U.S. president told reporters after the meeting with world leaders.

However, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said that the Polish authorities do not have conclusive evidence about who is behind the missile launch, although he specified that the projectiles were of Russian manufacture.
