More than 8,300 civilians have been killed so far since the Russian invasion of Ukraine launched on February 24, according to a Ukrainian investigation released Monday by the country’s prosecutor general, Andrii Kostin.

Among the dead are 437 minors and more than 11,000 wounded, according to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN. Kostin warned that the final number is probably higher because the Ukrainian authorities do not have access to the areas under Russian control.

Mass graves and bodies with signs of torture and executions continue to appear in the regions recovered by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

So far, more than 45,000 war crimes have been documented and 216 alleged war criminals have been identified, including 17 Russian prisoners of war. Up to twelve of the 60 defendants have been formally charged.
