Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has updated the death toll from last Monday’s earthquake to 321 fatalities, after recovering the bodies of three people on Sunday.

«Three bodies were found today, according to our records, by finding these three victims, the total death toll stands at 321,» BNPB chief Abdul Muhari told a press conference.

In this regard, the number of missing persons, which so far stood at 14, has been reduced to eleven.

The agency puts the total number of displaced people at 73,874, as 62,628 houses have been damaged, either totally or partially, as a result of the earthquake.

«In terms of distribution logistics, it is getting better every day. As for the tents, we will gradually incorporate assistance and distribution personnel,» explained the head of BNPB.

The earthquake took place on Monday at 1:21 p.m. (local time), with its epicenter ten kilometers south of Cianjur, according to the Indonesian National Meteorological, Geophysical and Climatological Agency (BMKG), which ruled out the risk of tsunami. For its part, the BNPB confirmed that the earthquake had shaken the capital, Jakarta.
