The President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, during the Council of Ministers. – PRESIDENCIA DE PERÚ

The President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, stated on Wednesday that the Government seeks to maintain the balance of powers in order to work towards the end of the political crisis in which the country is immersed.

«This balance of powers has been broken and the only thing we want is that the powers of the State are balanced to close these gaps,» said the president after a ceremony to recognize the history of the peasant ronderos, as reported by Andina news agency.

In this sense, he pointed out that the Government will not be able to solve «on its own» all the social demands, but will need to work together with the organizations and institutions.

«There are bills, there are deeds, there are demands, but they will be crystallized to the extent that we unite our work», said Castillo.

Meanwhile, the Peruvian head of state pointed out that history will judge his actions as president if it is proven at some point that he committed acts of corruption: «If justice has to fall on us, let it fall on us. History is the first one that will judge us if this president has come to steal as people would have us believe».

THE MOTION OF CENSURE AGAINST CASTILLO «IS INADMISSIBLE».

The Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Peru, Felix Chero, has pointed out this Wednesday that the motion of censure presented in the Congress of the Republic against President Pedro Castillo, should be declared inadmissible.

«This motion of vacancy should be declared inadmissible because once again it is intended to analyze the assumptions that have already been seen in the two previous vacancy processes,» said Chero as he left the Legislative Palace, according to the aforementioned agency.

The head of Justice has indicated that he is confident that political consensus will be reached with the Congress after the 2023 Budget Law has been passed, also thanking the willingness of the new Prime Minister of the country, Betsyy Chávez, to reach consensus with the spokespersons of the main political parties of the country.

«Let’s hope that the spokespersons of the different benches respond to this expectation, because it is possible to schedule what benefits the country», said the Minister of Justice, as reported by Andina.
