The social network Twitter has announced that it will launch this Monday a new subscription system that includes a verification system that includes the well-known blue badge, after several postponements by Elon Musk, owner since October of the company.

«We will relaunch ‘Twitter Blue’ on Monday. Sign up on the web for eight dollars a month or for eleven dollars a month on iOS devices — Apple’s operating system used on iPhones — to gain access to subscriber-only features, including the blue badge,» the social network said in a series of messages.

Thus, it has detailed that this badge will be replaced by a gold-colored one for companies, while later a gray one will be added for «governmental and multilateral» organizations. The blue badge will be awarded to subscribers «once the account has been reviewed».

Subscribers will also be able to edit their tweets, post higher quality videos, a reading mode and change their Twitter name and display their name or profile picture, although it has been clarified that «if they do so, they will temporarily lose the blue badge until their account is reviewed again».

«Thank you for your patience while we’ve been working to improve Twitter. We’re excited and look forward to providing more information soon,» Twitter has riveted. Musk announced in November his decision to postpone until Nov. 29 the platform’s payment verification program until he could ensure it was «rock solid,» though the deadlines were extended.

Musk’s decision came after several days in which users of the social network who had opted to pay $7.99 per month had indicated that they were unable to access the ‘Twitter Blue’ features.

The new payment model proposed by the billionaire would have been suspended after causing countless users to acquire verification to impersonate prestigious entities, damaging the reputation of companies or public figures.
