Ukrainian authorities in the eastern Ukrainian region of Kherson reported Sunday that at least three people have been killed and six wounded after nearly 60 Russian attacks on areas under Ukrainian control, starting with Kherson city, in the past 24 hours.
The head of the regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich, has reported that Russia has launched at least 54 attacks counting artillery shelling, rocket launcher fire, mortar and sniper fire.
The attacks have hit residential neighborhoods, a medical center, single-family homes and apartment blocks.
«Yesterday (Saturday) three people were killed by Russian shelling, six residents of Kherson region were wounded of varying degrees of severity,» he has made known on his Telegram account.
For its part, Russia has reported at least two wounded in new Ukrainian shelling on the occupied areas of the Donetsk region, also in the east, where the Russian Army has reported «significant progress» in recent hours.
Also, the Russian mayor of Donetsk, Aleksei Kulemzin, has denounced Ukrainian attacks on a children’s school and a kindergarten, which have left no fatalities, reports the Russian agency TASS.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday the progress achieved by its troops after defeating Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region, which would have allowed them to take advantageous positions. Kiev, on the other hand, has assured that its troops have prevented the Russian advance and have prevented the breakdown of its defensive line in the region.
