Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky said Sunday that the Ukrainian General Staff prioritizes the defense of the country’s border with Russia and Belarus.
«Protection of the border with Russia and Belarus is also a constant priority. We are preparing for all possible defense scenarios,» the Ukrainian leader explained in the speech he sends every evening since the war began to his citizens.
«Whoever inclines Minsk to whatever will not help him as any other sick idea in this war against Ukraine and Ukrainians,» he added.
In this line, Zelensky pointed out the importance of air defense systems, provided by its partners, with the aim «to deprive the terrorist state of its main instrument of aggression.»
«This will be one of the most powerful steps that will bring the end of aggression closer. Russia will have to follow the path of cessation of aggression when it will no longer be able to follow the path of missile attacks,» the Ukrainian leader assured.
Thus, he explained that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing a special peace summit for the winter: «For our country and for any other nation that may be subjected to the same aggression, to the same terror that Russia has brought to our land».
«The Ukrainian peace formula consists of ten clear points capable of creating a new security architecture of global significance, which will restore freedom throughout our Ukrainian land for all our people. It will serve as a guarantee of freedom and security for other nations,» he has asserted.
Zelensky has thus invited his partners to «demonstrate their leadership in ensuring peace.» «We fight together for Ukraine, for the values that unite Europe and the democratic world. For the global value of life. For all that Russia is trying to destroy,» he said.
He has also announced that a total of nine million people have regained power supply. On Saturday afternoon he reported that six million citizens had regained power supply after the latest Russian attacks on the country’s critical infrastructure.
«There are new results in terms of returning light and warmth to our people,» he said. «After Friday’s terrorist attack, the problem is already solved for nine million of our people. In most cities, transportation has been guaranteed,» he added.
