Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, on Tuesday dispelled doubts about the viability of the country’s nuclear program and its spy satellite a day after announcing that she has launched a series of tests to put the military reconnaissance device into orbit for next year.

«Those who call themselves experts see so many faults in others that they can only utter meaningless words,» the North Korean leader’s sister said, referring to criticism from the international community, which claims that these so-called advances are false.

Thus, they have questioned the progress announced by Pyongyang in relation to its nuclear program. However, Kim Yo Jong has asserted that the tests carried out last weekend are part of his «project to launch a reconnaissance satellite» and has defended the photographs released since then, according to information from the KCNA news agency.

However, experts point out that these images are faked and belong to another satellite due to their poor quality. Kim has thus pointed out that it is «reckless and inappropriate» to address North Korea’s satellite development capabilities and condemned those who question the country and its technology.

North Korea has so far this year launched eight intercontinental missiles. «We may not receive nuclear warhead control data until they hit a target if the atmospheric re-entry technology is imperfect,» he explained before stating that there is a possibility that they may proceed to launch an intercontinental missile in connection with this new technology.

«It would immediately be recognized because of the launch angle. I think they should think about it before commenting,» said North Korea’s de facto ‘number two’.
