The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has insisted on Tuesday on his intention to deepen bilateral relations with Namibia after his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and head of Namibian diplomacy, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
«Pleased to receive the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, to whom we express our willingness to continue deepening all instruments of cooperation between our peoples. Long live the Diplomacy of Peace!» the leader shared on Twitter.
This Sunday, the Venezuelan leader received the Namibian Foreign Minister at the Miraflores Palace with the aim of working on the joint agenda of both countries, thus fulfilling the Venezuelan government’s strategy of strengthening diplomatic relations with nations of the African continent.
Venezuela and Namibia have maintained diplomatic relations since May 22, 1990, and since then, have signed 11 cooperation agreements, agreements that seek to strengthen sectors such as energy, mining, science and technology, among others, as detailed by the local media ‘Venezuela News’.
In March 2021, Maduro granted the Francisco de Miranda Order, in its First Class, as a tribute to his struggle for the independence of the South African nation.
