Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said Thursday that the front in Ukraine is «stabilized» after the latest mobilization of troops carried out by Russian forces.
«Taking into account the measures taken to step up the fight by the deployed troops, the situation on the front line has stabilized,» Garasimov asserted in a speech, the Defense Ministry reported on its Twitter account.
He also stressed that Russian forces are «focusing on liberating» the areas of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where attacks continue, especially around the city of the same name and in the town of Bakhmut in the north of the region.
Gerasimov has indicated that Ukrainian forces are «suffering heavy casualties despite the supply of weapons by Western countries.» «Ukrainian air defense systems can do nothing against hypersonic Kinzhal missiles,» he said.
