Taiwanese authorities reported Thursday the deployment of a total of 39 Chinese aircraft and 3 Chinese warships off the island’s coast.
«39 Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLAN) aircraft and 3 warships have been detected around Taiwan at 06.00 (local time) today,» Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense has communicated through its official Twitter account.
Of the total detected military aircraft, 30 of them have crossed Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) in the southwest and southeast of the strait, Taiwanese authorities added.
Taiwan’s military forces (ROCA) have dispatched air patrols, naval patrols and ground-based missile systems to respond to the situation.
