Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski met Thursday with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, on his return trip to the country after visiting the United States, where he held a meeting with President Joe Biden and addressed Congress.
«On my way home I met with a friend from Ukraine, Polish President Andrzej Duda. We reviewed the events of this year, which have brought historic challenges due to the war,» said Zelenski, who said they also discussed plans for the future.
The two men met in the Polish city of Rzeszow, in the south of the country and close to the border with Ukraine. Thus, Zelenski thanked Duda for his support in the midst of the Russian invasion of the territory, according to the Ukrainian Presidency in a statement.
The two presidents stressed the importance of «strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities» and addressing humanitarian problems, «especially the strong migratory flow of those who have been forced to flee the war».
