Ukrainian authorities on Friday called on the country’s population to «dismiss Russian propaganda» and reject Russia’s information and accusations of a possible «invasion» from the Belarusian territory.
Advisor to the Ukrainian President Darina Zarivna said that «one of the favorite components of the Russian propaganda is the invasion from Belarus, which is once again in the media». Thus, she insisted on the importance of remaining alert and «listening» at all times to the high Ukrainian officials.
«Ukrainians should not react to this kind of intrusions but listen to the official spokesmen of the government,» he said, according to the Ukrinform news agency.
In this regard, he has warned that this kind of messages come from «contaminated characters». «The answer to all this is easy, it is based on the readiness of our Armed Forces. Listen only to official spokesmen», he insisted before affirming that «the enemy wants to make us nervous in the run-up to the vacations, and we must not give him a chance to succeed».
Recently, the Belarusian authorities have reported the deployment of Russian equipment to Belarus in view of a possible offensive from the territory in the coming days. In addition, Minsk has also reportedly transferred troops to the border area with Ukraine in the south.
However, experts point out that a Belarusian intervention in the conflict remains implausible.
