Ukrainian authorities on Friday reported the death of at least five civilians following shelling over the past day in the Kherson region.

The governor of Kherson, Yaroslav Yanushevich, has detailed that in the last day the region has been hit by 74 impacts of Russian missiles and rockets, leaving in their wake also about twenty wounded among them a minor who is in serious condition, Ukrinform agency reports.

«The enemy mercilessly attacked the residential districts of Kherson throughout the day: 36 shellings were recorded. Russian shells hit critical infrastructure facilities, kindergartens, a school, a hospital, stores, a factory, private and apartment buildings,» Yanushevich said.

On the other hand, in Donetsk two people were killed after the Russian shelling of the region, as reported by its governor, Pavlo Kirilenko, although he pointed out that the current figure is very difficult to determine precisely.

Throughout the night more shellings by the Russian forces have been registered in Sumy, Kharkov and Zaporiyia, Mikolaiv regions, among others.
