Former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who was wounded this week in an attack by the Ukrainian army on the town of Donetsk, was transferred to Moscow on Saturday along with two other wounded to be admitted to hospitals in the Russian capital.

An aide to Rogozin, who was also head of Roskosmos, has indicated that he has been evacuated to Moscow along with two military advisers wounded in an artillery attack in Donetsk. «They have arrived in hospitals in the Moscow region,» he has said, Russian news agency Interfax has reported.

Thus, he detailed that Rogozin will soon undergo an operation because of the sheridas suffered, while he added that two other wounded remain in serious condition in Donetsk. Among the wounded is Vitaly Khotsenko, the prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.

Propi Rogozin confirmed after the attack that he had been injured after being hit by a «metal shrapnel» that hit him above the right shoulder blade.» «Several people close to me were also injured,» he said via a message on his Telegram account.

Russia, which in February launched its invasion of Ukraine following an order to that effect by Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced in September the annexation of the Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporiyia regions, all of which are partially occupied.
