A Ukrainian court on Saturday sentenced four Russian fighters – two of them mercenaries from a private military company – to eleven years in prison for torture of servicemen in the town of Borov, Kharkov region.
Prosecutors proved in early September that these four fighters tortured three Ukrainian servicemen participating in an «anti-terrorist» operation in the town of Izium, however their arrest was not carried out until October, Ukrinform agency reports.
According to the prosecution’s version, the convicted men tied the hands of these three people and put bags over their heads. Afterwards, they were taken and thrown into a well with no water and no food. There they were beaten and tortured before being released days later.
