Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksei Reznikov has appealed to the international community to strengthen the supply of weapons to Ukraine so that the Armed Forces can «punish» the «Russian murderers» and prevent tragedies like the one this Saturday in Kherson.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister once again insisted on his usual request for arms deliveries and this time he asked for more counter-battery systems, more artillery and long-range ammunition, reports UNIAN.

«The barbaric shelling of Kherson by Russian terrorists is not only another war crime, but also revenge for its residents, who resisted the occupation and proved to the whole world that Kherson is Ukraine,» Reznikov lamented.

Finally, Reznikov recalled that the Convention on the Laws and Customs of War prohibits attacks on urban settlements, something that «the Russian occupiers do not care about». The Defense Minister thus followed the line taken by the President, Volodymyr Zelensky, who accused Moscow of killing «for pleasure».

The city of Kherson was the scene this Saturday of an intense attack by Russia, as a result of which at least eight people were killed and more than fifty were wounded, several of them seriously.
