The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has sent a message of hope to all the Ukrainian people on the occasion of Christmas, a celebration that this time the country faces in «difficult circumstances» due to the Russian invasion, a situation before which he has asked for «courage and bravery».
«We will return freedom to all Ukrainians», said Zelenski in a speech released by the Presidency of Ukraine, in which he stressed the unity of the Ukrainian people and asserted that «no kamikaze plane is able to extinguish the Christmas dawn».
«We will see its radiance even underground in a bomb shelter. We will fill our hearts with warmth and light», he has cried, to praise the «steely spirit» of the Ukrainian people.
In this way, he has assured that their struggle «will continue without stopping» and «will not be threatened by scheduled or emergency blackouts». «We will never feel a shortage of courage and indomitability», added Zelenski, who pointed out that after so much «bitter news», it is time to receive «good news».
Thus, the Ukrainian president encouraged citizens to celebrate this holiday season «as always», «singing Christmas carols louder than the sound of a generator» or congratulating relatives «even if communication and Internet services are not working».
Likewise, he has indicated that the country will not wait for «a miracle». «After all, we created it ourselves», he concluded.
