Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday urged Ukraine to accept his peace proposal «amicably» or refrain from having the Russian Army «deal with this issue».
«Russia’s proposals on demilitarization and denazification of Kiev-controlled lands and on elimination of security threats must be accepted in a ‘friendly manner’ or the Russian Army will deal with this issue,» the head of Russia’s diplomacy has asserted in an interview with TASS news agency.
According to Lavrov, Ukraine «is well aware» of Moscow’s proposals to end the war, which include among others «elimination of Russia’s security threats» allegedly coming from the Ukrainian territory.
In addition, the Russian peace proposal includes Russia taking control of its «new territories» in eastern Ukraine, which include Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporiyia. In referendums organized by the Kremlin in September, according to Russian data, 97 percent of voters supported annexation.
«There is little left to do: accept these proposals amicably. Otherwise, the Russian Army will deal with this issue,» Lavrov reiterated, as reported by the aforementioned agency.
