Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Mushustin signed a decree on Tuesday providing for the creation of military training centers in up to 16 public university centers throughout the Eurasian country.
This measure is part of the Russian government’s commitment to «train citizens», especially students, in accordance with military training programs, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.
The list published by the Russian authorities states that the military training centers will be located in universities in the regions of Astrakhan, Kirov, Izhevsk, Lipetsk, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Sakhalin, Smolensk, Tyumen, Vologda and Yaroslavl, as well as in the republics of Mordovia, Chechnya and Mari El.
Last week, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with the Russian Defense Ministry, reported the development of a military training module, which would be sent to universities for inclusion in educational programs.
Taking into account the new 16 military training centers, the total number of such structures in state universities of the Russian Federation will increase to 120, TASS news agency reports.
