Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a telephone meeting on Tuesday with the country’s military high command, with whom he took stock of the progress of their activities and discussed future plans for the coming year.
«The head of the military department heard reports from the leadership of the Armed Forces on the results of the troops’ activities in the outgoing year, on the already completed operational and combat training and planning of activities,» the defense portfolio has said, TASS news agency reports.
This conversation came after Russian President Vladimir Putin last week gave the ‘green light’ to unlimited funding for the Armed Forces in a clear sign of the Kremlin’s commitment to the «special military operation» in Ukraine.
Shoigu also visited the Ukrainian front line last week, where he took the opportunity to meet with some military personnel and convey to them the support of the Government in the framework of the war, which started more than ten months ago.
