Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podoliak has pointed out that the explosions occurring in Russian infrastructure, such as the one recorded on Monday at an airbase in southern Russia, are consequences of the war.
Podoliak also assured that incidents of this type on Russian territory will increase in the coming months, as reported by the Ukrainian news agency Unian.
«Everything that is happening today in Russia (…) is connected with the loss of control over Russia’s own processes. The number of sabotage, undetected detonations, fires at critical facilities is steadily increasing,» he has explained.
In this regard, the presidential aide added that the fires in Russia – which have increased significantly in recent months, with almost a dozen fires in several shopping centers – occur because the country is unable to access spare parts or consultations of foreign experts.
Russian authorities reported that during the early morning hours air defenses shot down a drone approaching the air base, but the debris from the aircraft killed three soldiers.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces subsequently warned Moscow that it would be «mistaken» if it thought Kiev would not attack the rear.
