The presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, respectively, will hold a videoconference conversation this Friday to address «the most serious regional issues», including the war in Ukraine, unleashed on February 24 following the invasion order given by the Russian president.
«We are preparing a contact between Putin and Xi that will take place tomorrow morning, Moscow time. It will be a videoconference,» Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov detailed. «It will be very important to exchange positions on the most serious regional problems,» he added.
Thus, he said that among the topics on the agenda will be «issues close to Russia and China», as well as a discussion on bilateral relations, including the growth of bilateral trade, as reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.
Putin and Xi met in September face-to-face for the first time since the start of the war in Ukraine, triggered on February 24 by the invasion order given by the Russian leader. China has shown its support for Russia and has held the United States and NATO responsible for what it describes as military expansionism.
