Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday ordered the government to set up a commission for the development of drones in the midst of the invasion of Ukraine and set a deadline of one and a half months.
Putin, who said the goal is to «prepare coordinated proposals for the introduction of a state policy on the development, production, certification and operation of unmanned aircraft systems,» said the authorities will have until September 1 to approve a national project on the development of these devices.
The commission in question will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, as reported by the Kremlin on its website, according to the TASS news agency.
«This has to be done by February 15. The commission will submit consolidated reports on the development of these drones to the president once a year,» he explained.
