The Ukrainian Armed Forces on Wednesday claimed to have destroyed two Russian Army weapons depots in the town of Bajmut in the Donetsk region, the main focus of fighting between the sides.
«Our missiles and artillery fire have hit several targets. First, long concentrations of military personnel and equipment and, secondly, two ammunition warehouses, in Avdiivka and Liman,» Ukrainian Army Eastern Forces Group spokesman Serhii Cherevati said.
Thus, he pointed out that high-precision systems such as HIMARS missile launchers or MLRS self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have hit «enemy targets and achieved unique accuracy», something that could already be seen in Makivka, where at least 89 Russian servicemen were killed during an attack on Sunday.
In this regard, he explained that the military in question «made the mistake of using the geolocation of their cell phones» but has also described as nefarious «the decision to deploy so many personnel together in one place.» «The enemy was not able to properly deploy its personnel and the Ukrainian intelligence took advantage of this,» he clarified.
Despite the heavy losses recorded near Bakhmut, however, Cherevati has asserted that the Russian forces «have not stopped attacking the Ukrainian Army.» «They have carried out more than 200 attacks throughout the day with various systems,» he concluded.
