The Ukrainian Armed Forces have claimed Thursday to have killed more than 800 Russian servicemen in fighting over the past day and added that the total number of dead among the Russian ranks amounts to about 110,000 since the beginning of the invasion.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has stated in a message on its account on the social network Facebook that «about 109,720» Russian servicemen have been «liquidated» since the beginning of the hostilities, unleashed on February 24, 2022 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They include 810 during the last 24 hours.
It has also said that 3,041 battle tanks, 2,051 artillery systems, 215 anti-aircraft defense systems, 284 aircraft, 271 helicopters, 1,844 drones, 723 cruise missiles, 16 vessels, 4,759 vehicles and fuel tanks and 182 pieces of «special equipment» have been destroyed since the start of the war.
The spokesman of the Ukrainian Army General Staff, Oleksandr Shtupun, stressed that «the danger of air and missile attacks by the enemy continues throughout the territory of Ukraine» and added that «the enemy continues to focus its efforts on launching an offensive in the direction of Bakhmut», in the Donetsk region.
«It has not succeeded in the areas of Avdiivka and Kupian after its offensive,» he stressed, while emphasizing that the Russian forces have repelled offensives during the last hours in the Lugansk region.
On the other hand, he pointed out that during the last day, the Ukrainian Air Force has carried out 20 shellings against «enemy concentration areas» and five against «positions of anti-aircraft systems». «Believe in the Armed Forces. Together we will win. Glory to Ukraine,» he remarked.
