The governor of the Crimean city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, reported on Saturday that a Ukrainian drone was shot down last night over the bay of the city, a base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
«The Air Defense Forces have shot down a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) at the northern pier just 15 minutes ago,» he reported on his Telegram account in a message posted at 03.26 a.m. local time.
«Even the sacred holiday, Christmas, is no reason for these inhuman beings to stop their attempts to attack our heroic city,» Razvozhaev wrote, referring to Ukrainian forces.
Sevastopol, due to its strategic location, has been the target of several attempted Ukrainian drone attacks, most recently on January 4. A «yellow» level of alert has been in place in Crimea since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year.
