More than 560,000 California homes were without power last night due to what the U.S. National Weather Service has described as a «relentless parade of cyclones» that will continue for at least the next 11 days after leaving at least six people dead since its approach last week.
The cyclones are part of a huge storm system that reached Northern California on Friday night and the next day reached the center of the state, amid flood warnings for the counties of Monterey, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, Mendocino, Humboldt or Sacramento, reports the ‘Los Angeles Times’.
Californians are preparing for the worst starting Monday, when the second of five major storms expected over the next few days will arrive, according to the expert of the State Department of Water Resources, Michael Anderson.
At least six people have died since the weather hardened since New Year’s, including a toddler who was crushed by a tree in the northern part of the state.
