The authorities of the Czech Republic have enabled early voting for all citizens infected with coronavirus for this weekend’s presidential elections.
Czechs who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be able to go by car to several established points so that, without getting out of the vehicle, they can cast their vote. At least one of these voting stations has been set up in each district of the country.
Those citizens who are not in a position to participate in the elections in this way, or do not have a vehicle, will receive a portable ballot box at home in which to cast their vote, as reported by ‘Ceske Noviny’.
According to data collected by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, some 5,700 people now suffer from the disease.
The Czech Republic is holding presidential elections this Friday and Saturday marked by the participation of former Prime Minister Andrej Babis, who is also one of the main favorites together with the former president of the NATO Military Committee, retired General Petr Pavel.
A possible second round would take place 14 days after the first round. The current president, Milos Zeman, cannot run again after completing his two mandates provided for by Czech law.
