
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold his annual press conference on January 18, addressing Russian foreign policy developments through 2022 in the midst of the invasion of Ukraine.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement that «at approximately 11.00 (local time) Lavrov’s annual press conference will begin during which he will summarize the main results of foreign policy.»
In 2022, the press conference devoted to the results of 2021 was held on January 14, and among the main topics on the agenda were security guarantees in Europe by the United States and NATO, Ukraine’s possible accession to NATO, and consultations on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is also scheduled to hold a press conference, although details are not known at this time.
