The Military Command of the Planalto has reported the conclusions of the investigation into the assault on the headquarters of the three branches of power last Sunday in Brasilia in an internal process that has lasted just three days and with a proposal to charge a colonel in the reserve for insulting and offending the Armed Forces, crimes punishable by up to two years in prison in the Brazilian Military Criminal Code.
The Police-Military Investigation opened on Tuesday points to Colonel Adriano Camargo Testoni for insulting members of the High Command of the Armed Forces and for offense to the Armed Forces, informed the military commander of Planalto, General Gustavo Henrique Menezes Dutra, quoted by the newspaper ‘Estadao’.
The investigation has been referred to the Military Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will now study the described conduct to denounce Colonel Camargo, who participated in the demonstration at the Esplanade of the Three Powers and published on his social networks two videos with offenses to the Army and specifically mentioning generals of the High Command and of his promotion from the Black Eagles Academy of 1987.

We have an Army of f… Fuck it all,» says the colonel in one of the recordings while leaving the Esplanade of the Three Powers after the police used tear gas against the assailants.
Camargo was removed last Tuesday from his post at the Armed Forces Hospital and his conduct was widely condemned by various military officials. He later released a video apologizing to the military claiming that he had a hot head and that he loved the Army.
The Army is at the center of controversy due to criticism from the left for its acquiescence with the coup attempt and from the Bolsonarist right for its lack of intervention. Other military personnel were present at the assault and Bolsonaro himself boasted until a few days ago on his Twitter profile that he was an officer of the Army’s Parachute Infantry Brigade.
