British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and Chief of the General Staff Patrick Sanders have been placed on Russia’s so-called «blacklist of exclusions,» the Russian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement Saturday.
Last Friday, Russia blacklisted 36 representatives of the United Kingdom «due to the continued anti-Russian course of the British government,» according to the Ministry, which on Saturday identified some of those affected.
Foreign Office spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also confirmed the inclusion of Secretary of State for Planning, Housing and Communities Michael Gove, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and former chairman of the ruling British Conservative Party Oliver Dowden, Minister without Portfolio Nadhim Zahawi and representatives of the UK Strategic Command and the National Cyber Security Center.
Zakharova did not specify further names but «if official UK authorities show interest in this issue,» she assured that Russia «will be ready to inform on those who indulge in a hostile course aimed at demonizing our country and trying to isolate it internationally, destroying the foundation of bilateral relations.»
