
The death toll after Russia’s attack on a residential building in Dnirpo, eastern Ukraine, on Saturday has risen to 18, Dnipro region governor Valentin Reznichenko has confirmed.
«This morning 18 people were killed by a Russian missile in their own house in Dnipro. There are 73 wounded; more than 40 of them are hospitalized, four of them in intensive care,» the governor has shared via Telegram.
The building has been hit by at least one missile and there are an as yet undetermined number of people under the rubble.
«Dismantling of the destroyed structures of the building continues. Almost 3,500 tons of debris have already been removed,» Reznichenko added. At least 72 houses have been destroyed and another 230 damaged.
«All services are now working in the places where Russian missiles hit. Out of more than 30 missiles launched over Ukraine during the day, more than 20 were shot down,» Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmigal has reported via Telegram.
In addition, Shmigal has confirmed that several energy infrastructure facilities were also hit during the day yesterday. «In connection with this, the most difficult situation is experienced in Kharkov and Kiev,» he added.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has published a picture, according to the authorities, of the hit building, the facade of which shows serious material damage.
