Ukrainian authorities reported Monday that 35 people, including two children, have been killed in an attack on Saturday by the Russian army on a residential building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

The governor of the homonymous province, Valentin Reznichenko, has indicated in his Telegram account that during the last hours the bodies of several civilians have been recovered, adding to the list of victims.

«Rescue services have been pulling bodies out of the rubble overnight. In total, the enemy attack has resulted in the death of 35 residents of the building,» he said.

However, he warned that the condition of another 30 residents of the building is not known at the moment, and search and rescue efforts are continuing in the area.

The authorities have explained that there could be a total of between 30 and 40 people under the rubble, while the number of people hospitalized is 75, of whom 12 are in serious condition, including a 9-year-old girl.

Meanwhile, Reznichenko pointed out that «the dismantling of the destroyed structures of the building continues» and stressed that «almost 3,500 tons of debris have already been removed».

«All services are now working on the places where the Russian missiles hit. Of the more than 30 missiles launched over Ukraine during the day, more than 20 were shot down,» Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmigal reported via Telegram on Sunday.
