Russia Today (RT) channel has sought explanations Monday from Facebook support after its Russian-language account was apparently deleted from the platform, run by U.S. entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg.
«Facebook closed RT’s Russian-language page,» the channel, with more than two million subscribers, has denounced, announcing that it has contacted the social network’s support to ask for explanations for the blocking, TASS news agency has picked up.
As reported in its Telegram channel, the RT account in Russian is not available to subscribers, so it has probably been deleted, and has also disappeared from search results, without the reason for this alleged blocking being known for the moment.
In early March, Twitter and Instagram also blocked the account of this Russian channel, a measure they executed after European countries suspended broadcasts in Europe of the Russian agency Sputnik and RT, which they accuse of being instruments of disinformation of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
