Russian forces have reported the downing late Sunday of a drone flying over a port in Sevastopol, on the Crimean peninsula.
«Air defenses shot down a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) over a port (of Sevastopol). All services remain operational in standard mode,» the governor of the Ukrainian city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaeven, detailed on his Telegram channel.
Sevastopol, due to its strategic location, has been the target of several attempted Ukrainian drone attacks, most recently on January 7. A «yellow» level of alert has been in place in Crimea since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year.
One of its ports is home to the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which has been the target of several drone attacks in recent months.
