The ambassador of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in Moscow, Rodion Miroshnik, has denounced on Tuesday that the attack on a residential building in Dnipro, central-eastern Ukraine, was planned by Western powers in the run-up to the World Economic Forum in Davos and the Ramstein military summit.
«There is a serious suspicion that this was organized and executed as a provocation. There are too many factors that give reason to say that it is a staged event. It was inspired by foreign special services, most likely British, precisely as an operation to divert attention,» he has said.
According to the diplomatic representative of the LPR, only recognized by Russia and some of its closest allies, the main purpose of this operation is nothing more than to focus attention on Ukraine in order to justify the consolidation of military supplies to Kiev, an aspect that will be addressed both in Davos and at the Ramstein summit.
For Miroshnik, the attack on Dnipro has occurred in a «very timely manner» in favor of what he considers to be Ukraine’s interests, and he has shown himself to be against taking for granted any kind of «coincidence», as reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
In fact, Miroshnik has used in his favor what happened with Oleksii Arestovich, advisor to the Ukrainian Presidency who on Tuesday resigned after suggesting that the projectile that hit a residential building in Dnipro had been shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.
The LPR ambassador in Moscow recalled that Arestovich – who has recanted and said that his words were «a fundamental mistake» – has been «forced» to rectify and leave his post.
The Davos Forum is being held from this Tuesday until Friday in Switzerland, while the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group (UDCG), also known as the ‘Ramstein format’, will hold a new meeting also at the end of the week with a view to a possible reinforcement of military supplies to the Ukrainian Army.
