Ukraine’s Interior Minister Denis Monastirski and other senior ministry officials are among 16 people killed in a helicopter crash in the Ukrainian city of Brovary, located in the Kiev region, officials confirmed Wednesday.
Ukrainian Police chief Igor Klimenko said in a message on his account on the social network Facebook that «a helicopter of the State Emergency Service has crashed in Brovary.» «As a result of the crash, the leadership of the Interior Ministry has died: the minister, the deputy minister and the state secretary,» he said.
«In total, 16 people have died, including two children. Nine of them were on board the aircraft,» said Klimenko, adding that 22 other people, including ten children, are hospitalized. «All specialized services are working at the site,» he added.
