Soccer player Dani Alves is arrested in a police car after going to testify at the Les Corts police station on January 20, 2023, in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). –

Former Futbol Club Barcelona (FCB) player Dani Alves has been sent to Brians 1 prison, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona), this Friday afternoon after the judge investigating him for allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman at the Sutton nightclub sent him to pre-trial detention.

Prison sources have explained to Europa Press that for now the player is in the income module.

The 15th Court of Instruction of Barcelona has decreed provisional imprisonment without bail for the footballer this Friday, in line with the request of precautionary measure that the Prosecutor’s Office has made when the player has passed to judicial disposition.

In the morning, Alves made a statement at the Mossos d’Esquadra police station in Les Corts, where he was detained, and then the Catalan police took him to the Ciutat de la Justicia to be brought before the courts.

The events took place on the night of December 30 at the nightclub in Barcelona, where the footballer allegedly sexually assaulted the 23-year-old girl.

At the time of the alleged assault, the girl alerted the discotheque and those responsible for the premises contacted the Mossos, who took her to the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona.

This Friday morning, Alves went to the police station and was arrested in a police car a few minutes after 10 am.

After testifying, he was taken to the Ciutat de la Justicia in Barcelona to be handed over to the judge, who, after hearing the version of the complainant, sent him to provisional prison.
