Authorities in the Russia-friendly self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have accused Ukraine of forcibly evacuating residents living in parts of the region still controlled by Kiev and then forcibly sending them to the front lines.
According to a representative of the DPR, the inhabitants of the region still under Kiev’s control are «forcibly removed» from their homes and forced to leave their families behind to receive training and then be sent to the front.
According to the source, the authorities of Donetsk, annexed by Russia at the end of September, have been aware of this forced mobilization for several weeks already and know of dozens of cases of new soldiers not only of conscript age, but also older ones.
Earlier, Vitali Kiselev, a senior military commander in the neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), had warned that Ukraine was forcibly mobilizing residents of western regions, such as Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukhgorod or Kamianets-Podilsky.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky signed on February 25, 2022 – one day after the outbreak of the war – a decree on general mobilization in the country as well as martial law, both extended until, for the time being, next February 19.
ADVANCES ON THE FRONT LINE On the other hand, the governor of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, informed this Monday before the microphones of Russia-24 that the Russian troops are advancing on practically all the front lines in Donetsk, located in the Ukrainian Donbas.
«The situation is still quite difficult, but our units are advancing almost everywhere,» Pushilin has detailed that Klischivka, a locality south of Artemovsk, is already almost under the Wagner Group, a mercenary organization collaborated with the Kremlin.
Pushilin stressed that the control of this area is important because of the possibilities it provides for controlling the transport of supplies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. «It is important for us to completely cut off the supply routes from Seversk to Artemovsk,» he said.
DESTROYMENT IN SOLEDAR Finally, Pushilin addressed the situation in the town of Solerdar, located in the vicinity of the important town of Bakhmut — Russian-ambushed — and the scene of intense clashes in late 2022 and early 2023 until its fall into Moscow’s hands in mid-January.
«As for Soledar: the city was destroyed. The enemy inflicted maximum damage, and there are practically no whole buildings left, the structures remain,» Pushilin has denounced, holding the Ukrainian troops responsible for the destruction in the city.
At this point, the DPR governor assured that the Russian side will be able to rebuild the city «in record time» following the example of what happened in Mariupol, a city in southeastern Ukraine and one of the first disputed localities in the framework of the war between Moscow and Kiev.
