The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on Monday detained two people allegedly involved in selling fake Ukrainian passports to Russian citizens in the midst of the war.
Ukrainian Intelligence has indicated in a statement that it has managed to «neutralize a number of attackers in Kiev, who had set up a plot for the acquisition and sale of fake passports,» as the SBU has indicated on its Telegram account.
The two presented themselves, precisely, as SBU workers and offered foreign citizens «help in obtaining Ukrainian citizenship.» Each passport cost $10,000 (9,200 euros).
The authorities, who have indicated that one of them has been charged for attacking a police officer, have opened an investigation to know the extent of the crimes committed.
