Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured Tuesday that Russian authorities are «not discussing» as of today the possibility of banning, or putting impediments, to Russian citizenship to travel abroad.
Peskov was questioned at a press conference about this possibility after the State Duma (Lower House) on Tuesday discussed the imposition of a reservation for vehicles to cross the border, Interfax reports.
After the uncertainty generated by this proposal of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament, the Duma itself has come out to clarify that the measure is aimed at the transport of goods, which seeks to have a control of departure from Russian territory.
The chairman of the Duma Transport Committee, Yeigeni Moskvichev, has stressed that the measure seeks to avoid queues at border points by setting an exact date and time for carriers.
