The Kremlin on Wednesday branded the international plan to send tanks to Ukraine as «quite flawed», among other things because it represents, in Moscow’s eyes, «a clear overestimation» of the potential it may entail in the field of warfare.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has again questioned the feasibility of an initiative that opens the door to the shipment of tanks of European and even American manufacture, after the German government has allegedly decided to give the green light to the delivery of Leopard.
Peskov has warned in statements to the media that U.S. tanks «will burn like all the others» and claimed that it will be the citizens who will bear the costs of these political decisions, according to the Interfax news agency.
He also alluded to the open public debate between different governments on the feasibility of delivering tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, suggesting that it seems to indicate that «all is not well» in the relations of theoretically allied countries.
